Where we are from

Ken and Joy live in Wollongong which is on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia, 80 kilometres south of Sydney.
Ken is retired from a career in Information Technology and Joy continues her career as a school teacher.

We have travelled to many places including much of Australia and New Zealand. Asian countries are fascinating – especially the Himalayas in Nepal where we trekked and being chased by a rhino in the southern jungle was very unique and memorable. Travelling around Europe, UK, Scotland and Ireland as well as a few African countries has been fascinating. Our 9 week self guided trip across the USA, Canada and Mexico is filled with many memories and experiences. We really enjoyed our trips to Ecuador and Peru, the Dead Sea and Petra to name a few highlights.
We started cruising in 2014 and have enjoyed several long cruises since. On our 2016 cruise we attended Bible Studies run by Pam and Keith Harrison from High Seas Ministries. Since joining High Seas Ministries as cruising colleagues, in 2017 we have been involved in creating Christian community through worship services and Bible Studies on Princess Cruises in 2018 and 2019. We planned and prepared for another cruise in April 2020 but the unprecedented corona virus ended these plans.

Ken is retired from a career in Information Technology and Joy continues hers career as a school teacher. Both Ken and Joy worship at Wollongong Baptist Church, a multi ethnic church, and have served in a number of areas such as in children’s ministries, Bible Studies and Office Administration. Ken has a passion for caving but has slowed down somewhat since turning 70 several years ago. Ken was involved in the discovery of Odyssey Cave at Bungonia in New South Wales (Joy thought up the name) and Khazadum in the Florentine valley in Tasmania.
